Abundance London

You will find flowers and planting all over Chiswick, on corners, on the High Road, and beneath trees. Much of it is the work of Abundance London, a voluntary organisation who plant sometimes with permission but who also guerrilla garden. The local community are very grateful to them for their contribution to Chiswick life.

Chiswick Book Festival website

The Chiswick Book Festival website has a lot of links to more about Chiswick, beyond the Festival itself. Perhaps not the most engaging presentation, but don’t be put off by that, because it is a rich resource for people who want to find out more about Chiswick.

Chiswick Timeline

The Chiswick Timeline can be found under the bridge on Turnham Green Terrace. It comprises of 16 large reproductions of period maps from 1592 to today, overlaid with works of art by renowned artists from the period, showing local landmarks. The website features the stories behind the art while the Timeline features a specially commissioned artwork by Chiswick artist Sir Peter Blake. The Timeline was created by Abundance London.

Brentford and Chiswick Local History Society

The Society run a regular programme of events and talks and they have an online bookshop about local life. Some of the titles are quite niche! For example, a book about the tile designs to be found in Bedford Park. The book is the size of a tile.
